Wednesday August 27th 2014

OK, so I know August 27th is not exactly the day that comes after June 25th (the date of my last post here) but this summer was so much busier than I could ever have imagined that I feel like I have a valid excuse for the silence. Really! To summarize, this is basically what happened this summer:

  1. The tours became really popular in June and I started to see some fully booked days.
  2. I got featured in the New York times and all of a sudden almost all of my tours were fully booked or almost fully booked and the private tours were selling like hot potatoes.
  3. I couldn’t block days off in July so I ended up doing tours every day except two (often 2-3 times a day) in July.
  4. I busted my knee while on a trip with the boyfriend (see #3 for probable causes)
  5. Overwhelmed by gratitude over this mind blowing start to my little endeavor I decided to give something back by hosting a charity day where I would give away all the proceeds of my tours for one day only to ICE-SAR, Iceland Search and rescue.
  6. Last week I transferred 100.000 ISK from my account to ICE-SAR. Success.

So that was my summer. Fabulous. Fantastic. Filled with joy.

And I’m happy to announce that I will be continuing on this autumn and winter and I’ve already opened up for bookings in September to December. See you there!

Well done for becoming so successful in such a short space of time. We loved our walking tour with you! I’m glad you’re doing winter ones!

Thanks so much Liz, I really enjoyed having you on the tour too. I actually met the puffin coffee guy today in the street and thought of you as I slipped him a sly smile :)

Lexi and I loved our tour with you back in mid-June (just before you hit the big time, I think). Bardarbunga-willing, Lexi is going to be back in Reykjavik for a few days next week and is hoping to find the puffin coffee guy open. And I hope to get time to learn more about the fascinating Dog Day King.

Can’t wait to meet you and take your tour this September! We’re already book and are very excited. Congratulations to you on all your success so far! From what we see and have read, it’s definitely well deserved. 😉

It’s so great to hear it is doing so well, we really enjoyed the tour this past Monday even with the rain! We never would have noticed all the special things about the city, especially the street art! We are almost done our trip here and Iceland has been fantastic!
